چکیده مقاله
ABSTRACT
Purpose - The influence of the arts on ethics in virtual learning is the main issue of this research. It is clear that Farabi focuses on the influence of the arts of his own time like poetry, paintings, images, statues, and crafts in the utopia. But how effective is an artwork in Virtual Education on ethics? This essay reports what is probably the first scientific study of the effect of an educational film on social and political preferences and ethics.
Methodology – Using a randomized experiment, we measure how a documentary film affects preferences. More specifically, the experiment measures the extent to which a short documentary film that we have directed weakens a specific belief among some Iranian Muslims.
Findings – We measured how much the documentary film reduces sexism compared to a control treatment that presents the same argument and story verbally.
Conclusions – Results indicate that prejudice against women amongst Iranians is not an inherent feature of Islamic beliefs.
